Broken Hearts

Week 2 - Faux pas: Part 1 of 4

Faux pas
One week on and PC Nate Roberts’ romance with Nurse Maria Joseph had still been good – up until today…
An Asian girl who had been badly injured and bleeding was missing. She was attacked in the park, and then fled on a bus having to get off near St Hugh’s. In A&E Maria admitted she treated her, but didn’t report the knife wound. See Nate’s gaffe in Part 1’s video.

Suspect
CCTV from the bus showed the knifed victim, who gave her name as Shelley Mullen at the hospital. Trainee DC Will Fletcher swiftly discovered her real identity was Aisha Khatri, a class mate of Shelley’s. A former pupil at their school, Gopal Gujarat, became the prime suspect for the attack. See why Gopal was arrested in Part 2’s video.

Delusional
Aisha cleared Gopal from police suspicion for the attack. Their relationship had been forbidden by their families and that’s why they denied knowing each other. Aisha and her family were illegal immigrants - this was why she didn’t want an investigation. Colin Brent, a witness from earlier, was seen on the bus’s CCTV trying to give Aisha flowers. See how he reacted when the police paid him a visit in Part 3’s video.

Erotomaniac
Colin kidnapped Aisha. His mother Jan gave the police a location where her deluded, stalking son was likely to be. There, at his former family home, DI Nixon and Nate talked Colin into giving up Aisha. See what makes a stalker tick in Part 4’s video.
