Abuse
Despite DI Nixon insistence that Kim’s dad, Dr Russell Patterson had no motive for paying for Becky’s laptop to be stolen, the evidence did suggest he did it. Becky had no idea why her laptop was targeted. She would only admit she ended the relationship with the doctor. Nixon found the doctor’s motive for conspiring to have Becky’s laptop stolen: the email sent from Kim indicated he had been abusing his daughter – he desperately needed to delete it.
