Suspects
Following a successful arrest on three drug dealers, DS Stuart Turner is very motivated and today is in charge of CID. PCs Leon Taylor and John Valentine arrived at Albie Mackenzie’s house after his young son Tommy reported an aggravated burglary. Albie suffered a head trauma from a blunt weapon – unconscious he was rushed to A&E. Stuart and CSE Eddie Olosunje as per usual clashed at the crime scene and the pressure built with a trio of suspects. Get CID’s debrief in Part 1’s video.
Aggravated
Eddie discovered that Tommy’s mum, Barbara, didn’t live with the family - she left six months ago after Albie was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Tommy admitted he lied about the items stolen from his home. He is now his dad’s full time career and controls the welfare benefits via his mum’s account. Barbara’s neighbour pops in to check on Tommy and Albie. See Eddie blind and annoy Stuart with science at the crime scene in Part 2’s video.
Awake
Albie the victim had lost nearly three pints of blood from his attack. Eddie didn’t notice as he’d made the mistake of just assuming the crime scene was an aggravated burglary. In fact Tommy duped Eddie and had mopped up the blood with paper towels and bleach in a desperate bid to hide what had happened. Tommy was arrested but later bailed once a strong suspect had been identified for the attack. Find out what really happened and why in Part 3’s video.
Tricked
Eddie redeemed himself: he followed Stuart’s instructions and photographed Albie’s head trauma. The treated picture clearly showed the imprint of the weapon. Eddie deduced it was probably a cricket ball which was missing from Albie’s cricket memorabilia collection. The cricket ball was never recovered, but this didn’t stop Stuart getting a well-earned result – Mike Vincent thought he was banged to rights. This investigation started off badly – see how it ended in Part 4’s video.
