Blame Game - Confession: Part 4 of 4

Framed
Whilst Justin Reed lay in a coma, DC Stevie Moss and DS Max Carter fought over whether it will be their fault if he dies. Justin’s dad Henry explained his son was set up by Barry Usher: they planned to rob Diane Anderson’s home and Barry told Justin to turn up with a crowbar – when he arrived Barry was in a boiler suit wearing gloves; he took the crow bar and sent Justin off to find valuables. When Justin returned he was shocked to see Diane bludgeoned on the carpet. His DNA was all over the crime scene but not Barry’s. Stevie makes a vital assumption in Part 1’s video…

Flush
Barry only did time for aggravated burglary; a lack of forensic evidence meant he evaded a murder conviction. According to an FIU check Barry was broke – however, Stevie and Max found his security box and, in it was £20,000 and a gold watch. Needless to say Barry was swiftly arrested. See the evidence stack up for Barry in Part 2’s video…

Pay-off
Max and Stevie paid a visit to Diane’s son, Ian Anderson as they were tracing the gold watch which was registered to a Dennis Fairford. Ian explained he was an ex-boyfriend of his mother’s and that he was a former villain known for robbery and violence. Meanwhile Ian was traced to a pub after he withdrew £20k earlier. Find out how it incriminates him in Part 3’s video...

Confession
Stevie sat in the interview with Ian amazed at Max’s policing skills – he got Ian to open up and admit he’d been bailed out from financial ruin by his mother; whilst she never let him forget it. Ian also had to suffer her squandering cash on gifts for her lover. Ian wallowed in self-pity and plotted with Barry, a barman at the time, to murder his mother. See Ian confess and Stevie disclose her feelings about the case to Heaton, in Part 4’s video.
