Conviction

Riot City - Support : Part 4 of 4

Fishing
After yesterday’s disastrous riot, uniform were sent on public order training. Insp Rachel Weston’s leadership skills need to be honed especially with two alpha males on the team; Smithy and Stone. Jason Devlin made an allegation of assault and the planting of evidence by Smithy. DI Manson needs to know if Smithy is a liar and questions DC Stevie Moss about him in Part 1’s video…

Loyal
DCI Jack Meadows and DI Neil Manson pick apart Smithy’s statement in the car park of the Westgate Estate. There must have been witnesses. The pair know proving Smithy’s innocence is nigh on impossible – instead a lack of evidence that implicates him will have to do.  In Part 2’s video Stevie is sent by Manson and Meadows to double check Smithy’s statement. If it returns altered they will know Smithy has been lying.

Fight
Stone made sure Smithy stuck to his original statement as he knew it was a test. Smithy did as advised but hated Stone having one over on him. Elsewhere a witness came forward claiming to have seen Smithy assault Jason Devlin – but then he did have £200 of Matthew Devlin’s cash on him. After a power struggle during training, Smithy and Stone have it out once and for all. See the fight in Part 3’s video…

Support
Jason Devlin was charged with assault, receiving stolen goods and immigration offences; but his dad escaped any charges. Meadows still wasn’t convinced that Smithy was innocent of assaulting Jason: even though he had sent Stevie off to test him and searched Smithy’s locker for evidence. Meadows needed to speak to Smithy face to face. Find out if the DCI backs Smithy in Part 4’s video…

Promoted
Supt John Heaton invited Insp Rachel Weston to join him in his new position working at a specialist unit targeting human trafficking. He also told Jack Meadows the super’s job at Sun Hill is his if he wants it.
