Judgement Day - Paid off: Part 4 of 4

Snatched
The day of reckoning is upon Smithy – he’s lied all along and claimed he never assaulted Jason Devlin. But will he commit perjury and swear to it in court and under oath? Jason was charged with people smuggling offences and receiving stolen goods - he pleaded not guilty. Jala, the little girl who survived being smuggled into the UK, is missing and feared snatched in a witness intimidation scam pulled by the Devlins. See how Khaled the key witness reacts in Part 1’s video…

Corruption
Whilst the search for Jala continued, it didn’t go well for the prosecution in court. Zemar failed to identify one of his rings taken by the Devlins – it seemed he’d been ‘got at’. Khaled Hasiq, who was the key to crushing Jason’s defence, refused to testify with Jala missing. DCI Jack Meadows suspected the Judge had been got at too – see why in Part 2’s video…

Tricked
DC Stevie Moss was in the witness stand. The defence barrister insinuated Smithy and Stevie had a personal and emotional relationship and reminded the jury Smithy had shot and killed a man in the past to protect Stevie. Stevie insisted their relationship was entirely professional, but did trip up with one question – see it in Part 3’s video…

Paid off
With the absence of key witness Khaled, the case rapidly became all about Sgt Smith who reluctantly took the witness stand and gave his evidence. Elsewhere PC Tony Stamp and Sgt Stone found missing Jala, safe and sound. Now Khaled was able to give his vital evidence and the case resolved with a shocking conclusion! Find out who paid Jala’s hostage taker in Part 4’s video…
