Absolute Power

Day 1 - Arrest: Part 1 of 4

Arrest
When Joel Fuller smashes a bottle over a fellow drinker's head in the pub and follows up the attack by giving the total stranger a good kicking, CID's Stevie Moss is left wondering what sparked such a violent and unprovoked attack? Weirdly Joel breaks down in tears when he is arrested - not a typical reaction for a hardened bar-room brawler.

Caring
At the nick, Stevie interviews Joel and is left feeling he's a sensitive man, so can't understand why he flipped out on a total stranger like that. Her sensitivity is jarred when Joel is bailed pending a court appearance - his mind seems scrambled and she doesn't like just letting him back out, in what can seem like a mad, bad world. Insp Smith is not so touchie-feelie in Part 2's video...

Game
Ignoring Smithy, Sun Hill's conscientious copper tracks down Joel's wife, Lucy. Stevie's assumptions of Joel are confirmed when she hears what a good husband and doting father he is. Now this case becomes Stevie's obsession.

When a call comes in, that a man fitting Joel's description, he has returned to the scene of the crime at the pub and traumatised a young boy in the toilets - Stevie has a brilliant ploy to get the mute youngster to tell her what happened. Find out what happened between little boy and Joel in Part 3's video...

Help
So, the evidence is stacking up against Stevie's theory of Joel being a nice guy. However something's triggered this out of character explosion of violent crime: Joel is smashing bottles over people, buying killer weapons, threatening a child with a gun and holding up and robbing a cafe too. The tenacity to get to the root cause could be a virtue Stevie will be dropping from now on - if she survives! Talking and trying to help Joel again Stevie realises she's made a massive mistake in Part 4's Video...
