When DS Max Carter and DC Jo Masters attend a call along side an ambulance team, they’re shocked to discover the victim, with severe head injuries, is informant Fran Morris. Jo knew Max forced her into snaring drugs’ boss Damian Tucker – this is her reward. Jo’s fuming.

Visiting Tucker in jail, Max is wound up by him as he taunts him about failing two people under his care. Max feels sure Tucker is behind Fran’s assault and her son’s disappearance, suspecting the attack and abduction has been arranged by proxy.

Fears for Fran’s 12-year-old missing son Noah grow. Whilst Tucker swears hurting 12-year-olds is not his style, Noah’s blood-stained football shirt is found on the river bank near his home. Jo’s day goes from bad to worse and she feels it’s all Max’s fault.
Denial [video #4]
With the evidence pointing to another person assaulting Fran, drugs’ boss Tucker is still confidently denying any involvement. Max may be on another frustrating and fruitless visit to his prime suspect Tucker but doesn’t stop him from crack the case.
