PC Roger Valentine tracks down Chelsea’s father, Gavin and gives him the news his car’s been stolen, his wife’s been injured and worst of all his little girl has disappeared along with the Ford Mondeo.

Roger maybe a bit slow with on foot pursuits but this time, behind the wheel of a police area car, he catches up with the stolen vehicle. PC Mel Ryder radios in the bad news: the thief has fled and there’s no sign of baby Chelsea in the back of the car.

Gavin is found acting suspiciously claiming he’s had an anonymous phone call giving him the whereabouts of his daughter. Leon finds her but is left with a nagging question: who assaulted baby Chelsea?
