DCs Mickey Webb and Jacob Banks examine a corpse pulled from the Thames. Its been in there all night and has a tell-tale serious wound on the neck, suggesting a violent struggle. They’re both confused to see the dead man is wearing designer attire along with a very old and tatty coat.
The coat belongs to a homeless man, Reggie Sharp. The body is identified as Jake Evans, a solicitor who recently volunteered at a local homeless shelter.
Mickey decides to stay out on the streets to uncover the mystery behind Jake’s death. Braving the cruel streets of London and its freezing weather, he befriends Nicola, a young homeless woman who is a friend of the coatless (and no doubt cold) Reggie.
