Dr Russell Patterson was traumatised by his wife’s death six years ago; his daughter Kim was too. Kim was scared of her dad as he would lie on her bed and hug her – nothing more. His emotions for his wife were mixed up with his feels for his daughter - Kim looked so much like her deceased mother.
The doctor found an email sent by Kim to her teacher and his former lover, Becky James. He knew if Becky read it, she would realise Kim had been abused. To prevent this from happening he paid a professional thief to steal Becky’s laptop and that way he could delete the email from her account.
The plan spiralled out of control when Becky returned home early the night her home was robbed. She confronted the burglar but was brutally attacked. The investigation uncovered the covert abuse Kim endured from her dad, but it also brought about a positive change for a family sinking in sorrow.
