BAFTA Win!

Series Producer of The Bill, Tim Key, and BAFTA award 2009

27 Apr 09

Last night at The British Academy Television Awards, glory was awarded to The Bill for Continuing Drama. Our cast walked home with the very heavy weight BAFTA. With them were Johnathan Young (Executive Producer), Tim Key (Series Producer), Kevin Rundle (Story Writer) Sylvie Boden (Producer).

Currently Tim Key is walking (on air) around the studios in Merton to show everyone the award and thank them for their input into the production.

Johnathan Young was overjoyed too: "It's been such a fantastic year for The Bill and we're truly going from strength to strength - we're so proud! 2009 is going to be a new era for the show - we're moving to 9pm, which is a great endorsement for the quality of the drama we produce. This award will mean so much for all the cast, crew, production team and all the people who have contributed to the programme over the years, and worked so hard creating some amazing episodes.  We've got so many other great storylines in the pipeline."

The British Academy Television Awards took place at London's Royal Festival Hall to celebrate the very best in TV.  The Bill beat stiff competition from Casualty, Emmerdale and EastEnders.

The show is set to go from strength to strength for our new time slot of 9pm in the summer. It’ll be a crime to miss it.
