The Bill Wins Award for Diversity in Drama

23 Feb 09

These awards are uniquely the only annual international celebration of achievements within black World Cinema and TV in the UK.

This award recognised not only the cast, both regular and guest, but also the breadth of stories The Bill has told.

Series Producer, Tim Key said: “The programme aims wherever possible to accurately reflect multi-cultural life in modern Britain, and therefore it is a great honour to win the award, which was presented at Bafta's headquarters.”

Patrick Robinson (Banksy), Rhea Bailey (PC Mel Ryder) and Cat Simmons (DC Kezia Walker) were also nominated in various categories.
